AI systems built with psychological precision
Psynalytics is an AI architecture firm based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and specializes in designing AI systems that integrate psychological precision. The company delivers cutting-edge solutions across three domains: Digital Twins that simulate human psychological responses for critical decision-making, Agentic AI systems for safe enterprise deployment, and AI governance and audit systems that ensure compliance with regulations like the EU AI Act. Rooted in over 20 years of psychological science and numerous peer-reviewed publications by founder Prof. Llewellyn van Zyl, Psynalytics collaborates with enterprises, academic institutions, and policy-makers to create impactful AI systems that prioritize psychological safety and regulatory alignment. Each solution developed rigorously adheres to scientific standards, ensuring accountability, efficacy, and ethical use.
Digital Twins
Simulate human psychological responses for critical decision-making.
Agentic AI
Multi-agent systems engineered for safe enterprise deployment.
Governance & Audit
Assurance systems that ensure compliance with regulations like the EU AI Act.
Build the systems that assess people, safely
We are looking to expand our team with two additional AI Engineers to help build the next generation of psychological assessment systems. The systems we are building use a graph-based orchestration architecture with a governed state store, retrieval-grounded intervention delivery, and a digital twin layer that models individual psychological profiles through non-intrusive measures over time.
The 12-month fixed-term contract has a strong possibility of being converted into a permanent contract. The current contract entails two clear phases.
Harden and ship
Help us harden and ship our current graph-orchestrated, retrieval-grounded psychological assessment platform that's now heading into a live deployment.
Build ATLAS
Help us build out ATLAS, our Agentic Digital Twin-Led Assessment System.
Day-to-day tasks will include designing, implementing, and evaluating multi-agent architectures, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts, and utilizing cutting-edge AI techniques to create impactful, science-based psychological assessment and development tools. You'll work directly with the Chief Solutions Architect and our AI-systems psychologists. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role with real ownership.
What we're looking for
- Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, ML, NLP, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience building multi-agent or tool-using LLM systems with an orchestrator (ideally graph-based), including structured outputs, persistence, and testing. Show us something you shipped: a repo or a demo.
- Strong Python; comfort with API design and data modelling (SQL).
- Hands-on RAG / vector-retrieval experience (Qdrant, pgvector, Weaviate, Pinecone, or similar).
- A genuine LLM-security mindset with practical experience in mitigations for prompt injection and data exfiltration; familiarity with the OWASP LLM risks and guardrail / classifier patterns (e.g. Llama-Guard-style pre/post checks).
- Experience instrumenting systems for evaluation, monitoring, and regression testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Fully proficient in English.
- Legally allowed to work in the EU or South Africa. (We can't consider candidates without existing EU or SA work eligibility for this contract.)
Nice to have
- Familiarity with psychometrics, assessment design, or measurement concepts.
- Some understanding of psychology, organizational psychology, or applied behavioural science.
- Data science experience, especially experimentation, evaluation, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with GenAI risk management practices such as NIST's GenAI profile guidance.
Contract details
- Initial 12-month contract, with a strong likelihood of permanent employment thereafter.
- Remote, Europe-based, with priority for strong overlap with CET and EET working hours.
- Full-time.
- Salary between €4,000 and €6,000 per month, depending on experience.
- You'll join a small, senior, science-led team and own real surface area from week one.
Email us to apply
Send us three things to hello@psynalytics.com:
- 1Your current CV with two contactable references.
- 2A link to your portfolio (GitHub, Hugging Face, etc.) with one thing you've built that's relevant.
- 3A few sentences on it: what it did, what broke, and what you changed.
That's it to start. If it's a fit, we'll set up a conversation with our Chief Solutions Architect about architecture, failure modes, and how you think about safety in psychologically sensitive contexts. Only at the shortlist stage do we ask for references and a short, time-limited technical exercise.
We read every application personally and reply within five working days. We're genuinely looking forward to seeing what you've built.
